  1. Selenium has been used in the electronics industry. The element is
  2. generally nontoxic, however several compounds, such as hydrogen
  3. selenide, and extremely toxic. Certain plans, such as locoweed, have a
  4. tendency to take selenium out of the soil, and can be harmful to animals
  5. and livestock feeding on them. It us usually obtained as a by-product of
  6. copper refining.
